Lovely Leeflang Ladies

Sjaanie- Bart's oldest sister, Katie (who married my brother Colin), Rebekka-another of Bart's sisters and Diana who married Bart's best cousin Brian

These are some of the lovely Leeflang ladies that threw Bart and I a baby shower last weekend.  I feel very blessed and lucky to have such tremendous family support from both sides. We were showered with great gifts, good food and lots of time to visit and catch up.  I appreciate that Bart's cousins would come and support the shower since they really don't know me and a big THANK YOU to Bart's younger sister Joanna for hosting the shower at her home.

My poor mother has been to all my showers and I haven't gotten a picture with her yet because she is usually taking the photos. So thanks mom for coming to my showers-I promise that I will remember that you where there.

Some of the Thornton cousins

This was the cute entryway table that Joanna decorated, she had each guest guess when baby will come and what he will weigh.  Feel free to guess too-my due date is June 30th. I weighed 6. 11, born 38 weeks and Bart weighed 8. 11 born 39 weeks.  I also loved the cute baby pictures and chevron favors.

I had to show a picture of the food and give a shout out to my brother Colin who FROSTED the cupcakes...sprinkles and all, so that Katie could get ready for the shower. I always wondered what they taught him in material science engineering :)

The Queenery

Long long ago, I was the Days of 47 1st Attendant. For a year I got to wear a crown and a formal, meet tons of new people, and ride on a float. Besides that I got an entire western ensemble with the cutest red cowboy boots, gave countless talks and played my flute more than my mother ever could have wished and I even got a scholarship. But more important than any of the fore mentioned things are the wonderful friendships that were forged with Jennie, the redheaded queen, Marie, the brunette second attendant and our classy advisor Janice. I am lucky that I got to know these lovely ladies.

Since I was the last of the 3 girls to get married and then have a baby, Marie and her mother were nice enough to throw a baby shower for me. It was wonderful to get together again and laugh and talk about our recent events.  I can't believe how much has changed in each of our lives; yet I still feel the same....has it really been 9 years since "the queenery" was created?  I loved my experience with Days of 47-"Utah, for the pioneer in all of us" and I love the queenery, plus our not so hired help...our mom's!

Ya gotta hate being the fattest one, these ladies are skinny mama's :)

I had to put this last picture in to show you how handsome my rodeo date was...and still is!  :)
