Do you remember?

Do you remember our nasty basement? The yucky, dark, moldy, smelly, duct taped window, illegal basement apartment? Well I am proud to say, (and even more proud of Bart for all his hard work) that the we now have a legal, beautiful, rented basement apartment.  Yep, we finished up the odds and ends and found a tenant...all with a new baby. It was stressful for me-to list the apartment, answer the phone calls, set up appointments and show the apartment with little Dutch, but he was a trooper and of course Bart was a lifesaver.

The basement apartment is 1100 sq. ft, 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, open concept kitchen, living and dining, plus a laundry room.  Bart literally tore down the entire basement and rebuilt it with new plumbing, electrical, ceiling, drywall, etc.

A picture is worth a 1000 words, especially in the case of the basement.  So I will leave you with the befores and afters.  Please enjoy them with us. :)

Phew, I'm tired just looking through the pictures.  I hope our renters like the apartment, they have no idea what it looked like just 1 year ago.

6 weeks

We've made it 6 weeks! Wow, how time continues to change.

I wish I could say that I know what I'm doing, I wish I could say that we get lots of sleep, I wish I could say I've stopped making list, I wish I could say that there have been NO blow outs, I wish I could say I haven't ruined an outfit in the laundry, I wish I could say that I've been to church, I wish I could say that I fit back in my jeans, I wish I could say that I don't cry, I wish I could say that I make dinner every night, I wish I could say that I have birth announcements made and a scrapbook started.

What I can say, is that I love little Dutch, I love being a mommy, I love that Bart's helps, helps, helps and helps some more, I love my mom and the band of women that have let me nap and helped me calm down. I love that car seats and onesies and blankets can be washed, I love disposable diapers, I love sleeping, I love getting one thing crossed off my list, I love checking facebook/pinterest at 2 AM. I love nursing and I love my nipple shield, I love that Dutch is a cuddler, I love that he is starting to be more interactive. I am proud that I went grocery shopping, I am happy when I brush my teeth and wash my face and ecstatic when I get to shower and last but not least I am scared to go back to work this week (only 1 day).
