Recommendations.?.

I am asking you fellow bloggers (the 5 that may read my blog) to give me recommendations on some good books to read. I have finished with my spring semester and instead of reading text books and research articles and would like expand my repertoire. :)

Please give me your suggestions!

I just finished reading The Hunger Games... the 1st and 2nd! SO good. They were for book club. I would highly recommend these books. The third one comes out in August (I think)! Happy reading! See ya soon.

Ha! I was totally going to suggest the same books... The Hunger Games, and Catching Fire. They're so good! Very disturbing... but addicting haha. Those are the most recent ones I've read and I haven't picked anything else up in such a long time. I need to get back into reading too!! Let me know what you read and like. :)

I also have read the Hunger Games & Catching Fire and they are great. I just finished The Undaunted by Gerald Lund, which I loved.

Oh Canessa- I LOVE books! I have way too many for me to write them here, but I use a fun website called goodreads.com and that's where I list all the books I've read and the ones I want to read. If you like Jane Austen- I'd HIHGLY recommend the:

"Fitzwilliam Darcy, Gentleman" Series by Pamela Aiden. It's Pride and prejudice from Darcy's perspective and I promise you that it's AMAZING. It's 3 books, starting with "An assembly such as this". It takes you into Darcy's world and makes you understand him so much more. MUST MUST MUST read and get lost in Jane Austen's world!

Other books that I love are:

The Book Thief (a must read, change your life kind of book)

The Thirteenth Tale (a must- suspenseful, you'll NEVER guess the ending, can't-put-down kind of book)

The Help (southern, funny and important issues)

A Painted House (John Grisham's only book not about the law and lawyers- its fabulous)

The Women of Genesis (series- made the women in the bible seem so human)

Goosegirl (a fun fairytale re-telling. All the best fairytale elements- I LOVED it!)

The Daughter of the Forest (Sevenwaters trilogy- the 1st book was the BEST- magical and adventure- girl hero trying to save her family-- could NOT put down!)

Peter and The Starcatchers (Peter Pan prequel- so fun- explains ALL about how Peter Pan and his magical world came to be)

The Hunger Games (insane- eye opening, amazing)

Catching Fire (Hunger Games book 2- equally amazing)

Stargirl (all about the "wierd girl" in school from a boy's perspective- quirky and fun)

If you want you can see all of the books I've read and want to read on my goodreads page (and you should seriously join so we can compare books!):

happy Reading!!!

Don't worry, I'm bringing you the Wet Desert. You will like it.

I've also heard good things about the Hunger Games so I put it on hold at the library. I'm number 384! I'm not doing to get the book until I move back to Provo and am no longer close to this library! I think you should buy it and then let me borrow ;)

"The Book Thief" and "The Help" are both really good books that others have suggested here. I would also recommend "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" book. It's a darling book and a pretty fast read. It's been on the the bestseller list for awhile, and I've been recommending it to all of my friends.

Happy reading!
Monica

P.S. Are you on Goodreads? If so, you should add me as a friend!
